knitting
A hobby I picked up right before my pregnancy with Cody, knitting is a fabulous stress reliever. It's helped me get through some crazy times in life, with pretty things to show for it. I am all for productive frustration. =D
I learned using the Boye I Taught Myself Knitting booklet, two PEZ candy refills, and a sixpack of Squirt (the best soda in the universe) in what turned out to be a sugar-infused three hour session of education. Treat yo self.
Occasionally I'll chatter about my latest works and file them in my knitting category. You're welcome!
resources:
- Crazy Aunt Purl - a fabulous blog that only occasionally delves into knitting, but her recipes are fabulous for a beginning knitter because she doesn't give you acronyms. Because I'm awesome, this is a direct link to her Obsessive Knitting category.
- Knitting Pattern Central - a huge knitting pattern directory
- Knitty - an online magazine with all manner of knitting resources
- Mochimochi Land - a blog full of magical small knit creatures and creations. Truly an inspiring place to visit with patterns to buy and exhibits to look at. Lots of tiny cute things.
- Mother Bear Project - a great way for knitters to give back by knitting bears which are sent to kids with HIV/AIDS in emerging nations
- Ravelry - a knitting/crocheting forum that I like to call the Yarn Mecca. I usually only visit to look up different patterns but they are a great way to find local knitters to schedule meetups and things.
- Silver's Sock Class - a very lengthy walk through on making socks, which I found perfect since I was so afraid to make them for the longest time

Ocean wrist warmer
This ended up being an attempt at fanciness that became too small. There is no match. May 2010.
